We’re off and racing to big Cup carnival
Fri, June 25 2010
WITH just weeks until the first outfits hit the races as the horses round the straight, the Darwin Cup Carnival has been launched.
Organisers said it will be the biggest and best carnival to be held in Darwin.
Ambassador Tiffany Parsell is the face of the eight-meet carnival, and will be who fashionistas and socialites look to for cutting looks and the latest trends.
"It is very exciting," she said.
"This will be a bigger and better carnival than we have ever seen before."
In her fashion tips for the race guide, Parsell has tipped neutral tones as the base from which to embellish with patterns and materials, and don't worry about mismatched accessories.
Darwin Turf Club chief executive Des Friedrich said numbers of horses were up for the ROANT day this weekend, which was an encouraging sign for the carnival ahead.
The carnival runs from July 3 until August 2.
