Darwin Cup sponsorship extended

Foster's will sponsor the Darwin Cup Carnival for another five years.

The Australian brewing giant will also increase the major stake money for the Darwin Cup to $175,000 this year.

More than 300 people are expected at a glittering affair at the Dariwn Turf Club tonight to launch the highly anticipated, month-long Darwin Cup carnival.

Day 1 of the Carnival starts with the running of the $60,000 Hot 100 Darwin Guineas (1600m) for three-year-olds on Saturday, July 2.

It concludes with the running of the $175,000 Carlton Mid Darwin Cup (2000m) on Monday, August 1.
